MARO Monthly September 2023 Newsletter: National Preparedness Month

Each September marks the observance of National Preparedness Month, a nationwide initiative that aims to raise awareness about disaster and emergency preparedness. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, preparedness is a shared responsibility of the entire nation from individuals within the community to the national level with the overarching goal of fostering a “secure and resilient Nation with the capabilities required across the whole community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk. For this month's MARO monthly newsletter, we will highlight specific national preparedness efforts, critical resources, and upcoming courses to best equip individuals with the tools to uphold the core capabilities of emergency preparedness.
