Thomas R. Brandon

Tom Brandon was a Deputy Inspector with the Suffolk County, New York Police Department. He is a 27-year veteran of law enforcement with 14 years in law enforcement special operations including commanding the SWAT team, Haz Mat team and the bomb squad. He is a graduate of the US Army/FBI Hazardous Devices School (B-3-93) at Redstone Arsenal and was a member of the National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board. Since 2008, he has been a contractor with the DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office/Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, currently working with the Mobile Detection Deployment Program. He is also an instructor with a US Department of Energy contractor teaching first responders to handle incidents involving radiological materials. He has 46 years’ experience in the Fire/EMS service that includes Hazardous Materials Response, Dive Rescue and Incident Management.
